Dave – 5 Peace Band – “Dr. Jackle” – Dave played other portions of this lengthy track before. Amazing musicians blowing their hearts out. We just listened to the guitar & saxophone solos on the is one (4:30-14:).
Nawi – A Mash Up! And a cool one, its actually working as one song for me but it sounds like Miles in the back ground? No but some Billy Harper hiding back there. My fave! “Thine is the Glory” – classic, uplifting, aspirational Billy Harper; always in a state of Trane. Billy’s raw tone is what I’m here for and his knack for long melodies that spill forth. The initial mash up, over the first few minutes. Girls Against Boys – “The Fade Out” started simultaneously with the Billy Harper track in consecutive tabs both playing at the same start.
Bart – Atmospheric drumming switches to vaguely deserted sounding guitar. Then someone breathing through a trumpet. You can hear the space, the gestures and movements, the creak of the seat. Music that forces you to be quiet to. To not disturb. Uma Elmo – “To Stanko”
Dan – Gal Costa – “Relance” (Stryx do Brasil – RAI TV 1978) – This is amazing and I have so many questions. The bounce is amazing! The tune is really cool, from Gal’s “India” album. Whatever is happening on this television show is incredible. Very visual but lacking any real choreography. Gal is still riveting and when she starts hollering towards the end it really breaks the repetitive groove up.
